Summary: Responsible for the provision of individual, group and family psychotherapy. Manages a case load of clients and functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Provides case management functions and crisis intervention functions for clients that are disability assigned. Performs on call duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Provide immediate therapeutic support and crisis intervention to individuals in acute distress.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate mental health, risk of harm, and clinical needs.
- Develop and implement crisis intervention strategies tailored to the individual’s needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Offer short-term therapy sessions and support aimed at stabilization and symptom management.
- Provide individual therapy and/or group therapy sessions for clients in crisis, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or solution-focused brief therapy.
- Address issues such as trauma, substance use, mood disorders, and anxiety.
- Work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, care coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Assist with discharge planning and facilitate referrals to appropriate outpatient services or community resources.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Ensure all therapeutic interventions and documentation comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mental health, coping strategies, and available resources.
- Offer support and de-escalation techniques to patients in distress to foster a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information and complies with HIPAA regulations
- Complies with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports Westbrook Health Services mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and code of ethical behavior.
Qualification Requirements:
- Education:

- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure:

- Active state licensure or eligible for licensure supervision
- Experience:

- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in crisis intervention, acute mental health, or behavioral health settings.
- Experience with diverse populations, including individuals with severe mental health conditions and co-occurring disorders.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals in crisis.
