Western Express is an asset-based trucking company headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee with terminals and facilities located across the United States. This is an entry level position into the transportation industry with the goal of building a career in transportation and logistics with the most driver friendly company in America. Management trainees will be expected to step into a more permanent role with the company within six months to one year of employment. Principle Duties Manage fleet of 250-300 drivers and provide service after hours Understand basic AS400 dispatch functions Driver Friendly attitude Answer calls and keep qualcomm messages up to date within 15 minutes at all times in order to communicate with drivers and handle immediate needs Communicate with DMs and Team Lead via shift change reports and individual emails Keep PTAs up to date and communicate needs and issues with track and plan team in effort to service freight and keep trucks moving Reports to DM Team Lead and Extended Operations Supervisor Skills and Qualifications Problem Solving Service driven mentality Ability to multitask in a high paced environment Organization Forecasting Typing and Data Entry skills Microsoft Outlook, Excel, AS400 Attention to Detail Independence Analyzing Information Results Driven Communication skills - written and verbal Work well in a cross department roll Information Gathering and Monitoring Adaptability Experience High School Diploma Associate degree preferred but not required Office assistant and customer service experience a plus Western Express is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
