As a Staff Certification Engineer, you will be responsible for...
Responsibilities:
- Managing certification documents and budget with agencies such as UL, Dekra, VDE, TUV, and others to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
- Actively participating in standards committees and working groups to influence standards development in alignment with company strategies.
- Collaborating proactively with cross-functional teams to develop, support, and implement comprehensive changes in product standards
- Staying up-to-date with regional and international standards developments across the energy sector.
- Analysing proposed standards and assess their impact on current and future product lines.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in standards organizations and certification agencies.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to internal teams regarding certification requirements and standards compliance.
- Creating and maintaining documentation related to standards and certification processes.
- Supporting product development teams in implementing standards-compliant designs.
- Providing technical leadership to the engineering and product management teams on the standard requirements for products and technologies
- Negotiating product evaluation and testing plans with agency partners
- Assessing technical and compliance risk of products to agency requirements
- Actively participating in standard development activities and committees to aid in aligning standards with our client Energy product and technology plan
What you already have...
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience in mechanical and / or electrical engineering related positions.
- In-depth knowledge of UL, Dekra, TUV, IEEE, and other relevant certification processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across different departments.
- Experience in developing and industrializing electrical and electronic technologies
- Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand technical standard requirements applicable to the energy industry, and educate others on proper interpretation
- Possesses high degree of initiative, technical competence, engineering process knowledge and strong communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with medium and high voltage products and the industrial, utility, and renewable markets.
- Technical expertise in energy-related standards and certification processes.
- Strategic thinking and ability to align standards development with business objectives.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability and willingness to stay current with evolving standards and regulations.
