PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined that, to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time, a student is required to attend ESY. These services will be based upon the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals/objectives. Estimated program dates: 6/30/2025 - 8/7/2025.
• Serves as direct administrator of extended school year program.
• Work with Coordinator of Special Education and Interim Director of Student Support Services to prepare for the summer program including organization and hiring of personnel.
• Review IEPs of participating students for regulatory compliance and oversee the implementation of those IEPs for all involved students.
• Provide direct supervision of staff and provide on-site supervision during program hours.
• Coordinate transportation matters with the Transportation Coordinator
• Collaborate with the Interim Director of Student Support Services throughout spring to set up classes and prepare for students.
• Provide general oversight and support to the ESY summer school program and serve as primary liaison for parents, staff and Student Services Office.
• Submit staff and student attendance records to the Student Services Office on a weekly basis.
• Oversee the provision of materials and supplies; approve any purchases and submit receipts for reimbursement. Ensure that procedures and forms for field trips are followed.
• Maintain student records (attendance, IEP's, medical information, emergency contacts, etc.
• Organize a procedure for regular parent communication/ newsletters.
• Serve as a resource for teachers.
• Communicates with families and district personnel regarding programming and needs as they arise.
• Consult on matters related to transportation, discipline, etc.
• Ensure that a progress report and necessary data is completed for each student.
• Oversee the final clean up/ pack up at the end of the program.
• Other duties as assigned by the Interim Director of Student Support Services or designee.
Stipend: $5500. Includes pre and post planning, organizing and oversight of entire program
