Job Summary
The Forklift Mechanic position is responsible for complete diagnosis and repair of Propane Forklifts. Lift capacities vary from 5,000 to 12,000 lbs forklifts. Reports to Department Manager with no supervisory Responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear or talk. Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, turning, and walking. Frequently required to stand for long periods. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. Exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high. Hot to cold temperatures and dust.

This position does not require travel to other Woodgrain locations.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer Forklift Certification and training program for Nampa facility
- Observe functioning of forklifts to detect hazards/problems and need for adjustments, repairs or replacement
- Repair and maintain forklifts within the establishment
- Perform preventive maintenance on forklift equipment
- Safely disassemble, and repair or replace broken parts
- Dismantle, test and analyze malfunctioning equipment, hand tools and power tool and tests apparatus to locate defects
- Clean and lubricate parts
- Document all work performed
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Maintaining a clean and orderly work area
- Actively participating in work-area improvements
- Dumping the trash, pallet cleanup, and chip-bin area cleanup
- Assisting other work areas as necessary
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 3 years’ experience as an industrial forklift mechanic
- CDL license preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical processes and tools
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
- Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment
- Strong computer skills and ability to use maintenance management software
