Reports To: Restaurant Manager
Position Purpose: Responsible for serving food and beverages according to the established rules of etiquette and performs any and all other duties necessary to assure a memorable dining experience for all members and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welcomes members and guests upon being seated.
- Distributes menus.
- Ensures that all tables are set correctly in compliance with the station sheet.
- Responsible for the service of all members and guests in his/her station specifically, but may be asked to assist those in other stations, as needed. Service and quality must be within the specifications stated in the server-training manual.
- Takes food and beverage order from members and guests.
- Records order properly and places food order correctly into the Point of Sale system, using all modifiers.
- Assembles food on tray with appropriate condiments and side dishes.
- Serves meal following dining Room Standards.
- Checks back to ensure member/guest satisfaction.
- Maintains table cleanliness throughout the member’s meal.
- Removes soiled dishes.
- Suggests and serves dessert and coffee.
- Responsible for obtaining the members’ signature on the check, ensuring all checks are correct, and closing out through the computer.
- Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
- Uses suggestive selling techniques when taking food and beverage orders.
- Has a friendly, helpful, positive attitude.
- Responsible for all assigned side work and cleaning duties throughout the shift, as well as after the shift.
- Maintains complete knowledge of the food and beverage products and stays up to date with any changes therein.
- Tastes and memorizes special menu items and descriptions for each meal period.
- Responsible for performing the proper procedure for wine service.
- Responsible for his/her appearance and makes sure that his/her uniform is neat, clean and pressed every shift.
- Attends all pre-shift meetings.
- The server knows and abides by the operating policies of the club.
- Assists others with tasks that may not normally be his/her responsibility.
- The server keeps aware of posted information on the bulletin boards and Woodmonter and is responsible for attending scheduled staff meetings.
- Reports to supervisor before leaving premises.
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Work Experience Qualifications
Prior food service experience in restaurant, hotel, or club is required.
