What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Coordinator position at Woodstock Inn & Resort?
Supports employment and hiring function, and other administrative functions of the Human Resources Department. Under direction of HR Director coordinates appointments and interviews, assists to expedite the hiring process, conducts reference checks, performs screening interviews by phone or in-person, and provides overall support to staff. A primary focus of this role is to assist with recruitment efforts and outreach to develop, prospect, and maintain recruitment sources and programs to assist with staffing needs. This will include but not be limited to attendance at local and regional job fairs, high schools, vocational schools, and colleges as well as networking with community resources, actively making calls, and outreach to develop potential job applicants. In addition will assist with projects and work as required which could include weekend and after hours coverage and support to employee housing activity.
Coordinates employee recognition program. Oversees employee housing, housing placements, supplies, applications, tenant notices and requests for repairs and maintenance, communication with tenants, lease renewals. Assists with employee functions and activities. Facilitates a positive and professional work environment. Maintains confidentiality of company information including, but not limited to, wage and financial data and employee performance records. Maintains and ensures compliance with all current federal and state labor laws.
- High School plus minimum 2-year college degree preferred; and at least 3 years of experience in a hotel or a related industry; or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws desirable.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
