The Development Services department is seeking a qualified Land Use Specialist I to join our team!

We are looking for a candidate with outstanding communication skills and a keen attention to detail. The ideal applicant will possess experience in property site inspections, zoning ordinances, and a solid understanding of land use regulations.

- Inspects property sites for conformance with zoning and related regulations.
- Initiates appropriate enforcement action.
- Calculates activities and submits written reports on results of investigations.
- Assists the public in preparation of building and zoning permit applications and provides technical information pertaining to land use and zoning.
- Writes and issues permits in accordance with the zoning ordinances.
- Responds to natural disasters and completes damage assessments.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in zoning activities or related field.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must obtain Level I certification from the Code Enforcement League of Arizona within six (6) months of hire.
