Job Title: Clinical Assistant |

Position Summary: The Clinical Assistant functions as part of the clinical care team. The Clinical Assistant will room patients, obtain vitals, document care, and provide assistance to the Physician, PA’s, and NP’s as needed.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to assist the provider with any needs during clinic.
- Ability to document accurately and timely. This includes completion of any forms needed.
- Ability to assist with booking appointments for patients
- Knowledge of assisting with collecting Laboratory Specimens and is able to process for send out to the lab.
- Ability to triage medical calls
- Assist with the flow of patients and is able to keep the clinic running smoothly and on time.
- Able to draw up injections
- Ability to perform phlebotomy when needed
- Ability to change dressings, remove sutures, etc.
- Good interpersonal skills in establishing effective working relations with staff.
- Ability to effectively train new staff members.
- Handling & protecting patient information.
- Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications:
- Required: Graduated from an accredited medical assistant/Ortho Tech certification program; Active NH Medical Assistant, Ortho Tech, or Athletic Trainer license/certification; BCLS
- Preferred: Associates degree

Working Conditions:
- Work is performed inside with good ventilation and comfortable temperatures
- This job classification has occasional exposure to electric shock, x-ray and electromagnetic energy
- This job classification has routine exposure to radiation hazards, biohazardous materials, noxious odors, latex and musculoskeletal injuries
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. frequently, pushing or pulling greater than 100 lbs.
- Positional tasks may include frequent/prolonged walking, standing with occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing and stooping
- Eye-hand coordination, depth perception and manual dexterity sufficient to perform such task as the operation of biomedical equipment
- Corrected hearing and vision to within functional ranges; must be able to see and read computer screens and biomedical equipment readouts with or without corrective devices
- Must be able to communicate clearly with patients, families and co-workers

Occupational Exposure to Chemical and Pharmaceutical Wastes:
- Waste Handler: The normal work routine involves exposure to chemical wastes. This position is responsible for the safe handling and movement of hazardous materials/hazardous wastes.
Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens:
- OSHA Category I: The normal work routine involves exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or other potentially infectious materials. Position is required to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
