Pre-Litigation Paralegal (Motor Vehicle Accidents)

Well established, St. Louis based firm is presenting a unique opportunity for the right candidate, as we continue to grow and evolve. This paralegal position requires a proactive personality with organizational skills along with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Must be able to jump into an existing caseload and move cases forward.

2 years of knowledge in personal injury MVA's required. Successful candidates will be responsible for handling personal injury claims from inception through resolution. The position entails extensive contact with clients, attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medical providers. Must haves:

At least two years of experience specifically handling MVA (motor vehicle accident) claims.

Someone who has managed at least 70 files and has handled every aspect of the job independently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Investigation
• Gather and analyze intake information and relevant documents
• Fully investigate each case
• Maintain contact with clients on regular basis
• Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of income
• Read and interpret medical records and reports
• Organize and maintain case files
• Understanding of a personal injury case management system. Experience with Litify is a plus.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Must be well organized and detail oriented
• Must have exceptional communication and written skills
• Must have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software
• Some medical background would be a plus but not essential
• Knowledge of pre-litigation case process and ability to work independently.
• Main point of contact for adjusters, medical providers, and subrogation analysts on each file.
• Investigate facts to obtain relevant issues necessary to determine causation, damages, and extent of injuries.
• Familiarity with all types of insurance policies, coverage limits, provisions, and exclusions.
• Medical review and preparation of medical chronologies and medical expense itemizations and demand packages.
• Assist clients with medical providers, property damage and resolving client and adjuster Medical Pay issues.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid subrogation, private insurance subrogation, and ability to understand compliance with subrogation regulations, when appropriate.

Compensation: $62,000 to $65,000
