IT Architect – Design & Implementation Specialist (PKI Focus)

We’re looking for a seasoned IT Architect – Design & Implementation Specialist to join our team and support high‑availability PKI operations for a global enterprise environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, deployment, and ongoing management of enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) services across global locations. You’ll drive strategic security initiatives, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure seamless certificate lifecycle operations at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage Microsoft AD Certificate Services (CAs, OCSP, CRL, NDES)
• Manage enterprise‑level certificate lifecycle using CLM tools and HSMs
• Build automation for PKI operations using PowerShell and Python
• Provide Tier 3 support and resolve complex PKI‑related incidents
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with global security standards
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Security, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams
• Produce high‑quality documentation and lead PKI proof‑of‑concept initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• 10 years hands‑on experience with Microsoft AD CS or equivalent
• 3 years experience with CLM platforms (e.g., Venafi, AppViewX, Keyfactor)
• HSM experience (Thales, nCipher, Utimaco)
• Proven track record delivering PKI solutions in large enterprise environments
• Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum
• Certifications preferred: CISSP, GIAC, Azure Security Engineer, or similar

• PowerShell (Intermediate–Advanced)
• Python (Nice to have)
• SQL & database query knowledge

• IT security, cryptography, risk assessment
• Certificate lifecycle management & PKI best practices

Work Environment

• Normal office setting
• 90% onsite in Greenville, SC
• 10% travel to other global locations
