What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist position at AppleOne?
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate CNC-controlled lathes using G-code based programs
• Interpret work orders, setup sheets, and blueprints to ensure accurate production
• Load tools, molds, and rollers into machines according to specifications
• Configure blank centering devices and manage secondary operations (hemming, trimming)
• Prep workstations and materials for blank circling and hole punching
• Perform routine dimensional checks to ensure product quality
• Program existing high-volume parts into CNC lathes
• Maintain safety standards and follow operational protocols
• Accurately document production output and quality control metrics
Additional Support Responsibilities (~50%):
• Operate hydraulic draw and punch presses
• Use pneumatic punch and kick presses
• Run pneumatic trimming and beading machines
• Operate manual lathes to produce or adjust tooling for production
Qualifications and Skills:
• Ability to learn and operate CNC lathes independently
• Strong mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting ability
• Machinist mindset with attention to detail, accuracy, and process efficiency
• Self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1–3 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a production environment
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and working with G-code highly preferred
