The Police Officer works under general supervision of a shift or operations supervisor and the Director of Public Safety/Chief of Campus Police. The Police Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure campus environment; and the enforcement of University policies, state and local laws.The selected applicant will initially be hired as a Security Guard 2 if all Police Officer Standard and Training pre-employment requirements are not met at the time of employment.The selected applicant will be hired as a Police Officer 1 if all Police Officer Standard and Training pre-employment requirements are met at the time of employment.Academy graduation and subsequent certification is a condition for continued employment. The probationary period for new officers is 6 months. Guards/Officers sign a contract addendum agreeing to repay all associated, initial training costs if they resign within two years of the academy graduation date.
