Job Overview

    The Ascension Parish Library is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Library Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patrons of all ages. Your primary duties will include assisting patrons with the effective use of library facilities and resources, maintaining patron library accounts, circulating books and other materials, and providing reference services.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages.
• Maintain accurate records of patron library accounts.
• Circulate books, audio visual materials, and other library resources.
• Assist patrons with technology, including public computers and copiers.
• Acknowledge financial transactions accurately.
• Return borrowed items to their designated location on the shelves.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the branch.

Requirements

• Holds a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates familiarity with technology, including Microsoft Office and online information retrieval.
• Exhibits excellent customer service skills.
• Possesses strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
