What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bill of Materials (BOM) Analyst position at Blue Chip Talent?
We are currently working with a client who is seeking a Bill of Materials (BOM) Analyst for a 7-month contract-to-hire position with possibility for extension. This is a hybrid role in Irvine, CA (3 days onsite, 2 WFH). This position is available to candidates eligible to work in the U.S. on a W2 basis. C2C and 1099 arrangements are not supported for this role
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience in an Automotive Bill of Materials role or similar
- Proficiency in CATIA for BOM management and updates
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) using CATIA throughout the product lifecycle
- Establish baselines from the Design BOM to the Operations BOM, ensuring appropriate variant codes for ease of engineering workflows
- Support Design Release Engineers (DREs) with Pre-production and production releases and Change Action (CA) processes
- Validate and verify all Change Actions to ensure accurate updates to the OPS BOM
- Update CATIA BOM data to reflect engineering design and change requirements
- Attend and support Change Review Boards (CRBs) for urgent modifications
- Perform weekly validations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the OPS BOM
- Collaborate with the Finance team to resolve ProjectEx-related BOM questions
- Generate and maintain deviation part numbers as required
