About the Role
We are seeking a Prototype Analyst in Irvine, CA, who is highly analytical and detail-oriented Prototype Analyst to support prototype vehicle builds. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and alignment of the Master Parts List (MPL) with build specifications, engineering changes, and system data. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data management, change control, and cross-functional collaboration, with experience in fast-paced, prototype-focused automotive environments.
Key Responsibilities

Master Parts List (MPL) Management & Validation
- Create, validate, and manage the Master Parts List for all prototype builds.
- Ensure accuracy by aligning MPLs with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering changes.
- Collaborate with prototype engineering teams to incorporate process-related data into the MPL.
- Conduct regular validation cycles (e.g., weekly) to maintain data integrity and system alignment
Change Management & System Support
- Approve and execute change management (CM) tickets across relevant systems.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies during system data transfers between platforms.
- Maintain alignment between engineering documentation and inventory systems.
- Actively engage with warehouse teams to keep part availability and status updated.
Prototype Build & Production Support
- Participate in part shortage meetings, providing timely updates on critical parts.
- Support deviation meetings to ensure accurate reflection of changes in the MPL.
- Report clear part status updates during prototype build tracking.
- Contribute to Change Review Boards (CRBs) to facilitate last-minute or urgent changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Data Management.
- Proven experience with Master Parts Lists (MPLs) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Familiarity with change management processes and documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Self-driven, proactive problem-solver with high attention to detail.
- Experience in automotive or electric vehicle (EV) prototype environments.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems architecture, especially electrical and wiring harnesses.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill).
- Experience with part tracking, engineering changes, and prototype build coordination.
