JOB SUMMARY: The Data Analyst supports all departments by managing and analyzing data to enhance organizational decision-making and quality improvement efforts. Under the supervision of the Director of Healthcare Informatics, this role is responsible for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets, preparing reports, and contributing to total quality improvement initiatives. The analyst will assist in developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support the agency’s Informatics, Continuous Quality Improvement, and Program Evaluation efforts.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCES:
- MINIMUM: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Informatics, Statistics or a comparable discipline from an accredited college or university.
- MINIMUM: Three (3) years experience in data management, analysis, and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience working with databases such as Azure SQL and writing SQL queries from scratch.
- Experience working with healthcare data and EHR systems is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience working with business intelligence tools, preferably MS Power BI.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITES:
Data Management & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual contractual, regulatory, and internal reports, as well as ad hoc reports.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the agency’s Data Warehouse to centralize information.
- Extract, clean, and prepare data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and spreadsheets, for analysis and reporting.
- Develop and maintain documentation detailing report generation processes across various agency systems.
- Generate comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize key findings and provide actionable insights for decision-making at the organizational, departmental, and program levels.
Data Analysis & Visualization
- Use statistical methods and SQL queries to analyze data, identify trends, and generate insights.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI to communicate findings effectively.
Data Quality & Integrity
- Conduct system audits and data analysis to identify and correct inaccuracies in client records and billing data, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Assist in documenting workflow processes that impact data using tools like MS Visio.
System & Workflow Optimization
- Support Electronic Health Record (EHR) optimization efforts, including new function rollouts, to enhance workflows and improve client care quality.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with various departments (Programs, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance) to understand their data needs and develop tailored reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Possess a solid foundation and proficiency in statistics, data manipulation, and practical experience with statistical software (such as Excel, SQL) and competency in data analysis languages including Python, and R.
- Proficiency in MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy to derive meaningful, actionable insights.
- Creative thinker with ability to synthesize, perform, interpret, and convey data analysis.
- Excellent writing and presentation, listening and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
