Job Title: MLS Program Assistant
Job Summary:
MLS Program assistant will run on campus clinical simulation labs during Spring and Summer terms to help with MLS internships. And will also help teach MLS teaching labs (MMBio 405, 406, 407, 411, 412, 102) during the Fall and Winter semesters.
Essential Functions:
MLS Program assistant will run on campus clinical simulation labs during Spring and Summer terms to help with MLS internships. And will also help teach MLS teaching labs (MMBio 405, 406, 407, 411, 412, 102) during the Fall and Winter semesters.
Run Simulation Labs
Design the curriculum for an on-campus clinical microbiology experience
Supervise and grade students during the on-campus experience
Assist with teaching and laboratory preparation for the following courses:
MMBio 102
MMBio 405
MMBio 406
MMBio 407
MMBio 412
Assist with supervision of students in clinical internship
Visit hospitals where students are interning
Maintain contact with student interns
Act as liaison between hospitals and program
Qualifications:
Required: BS in Medical Laboratory Science. Working experience as a generalist in clinical laboratory
Preferred: Working experience in Clinical Microbiology

Employee Class: 3/4 Time (28 hour)
Work Location: Provo Campus
Environment: Rare presence of abnormal variations in temperature and exposure to outside conditions. Work with biohazardous bacterial BSL-2 agents. Light physical effort. 30 min. to 4 hours, may be 5 days per week. Lab coat and gloves. Face shield and goggles optional.
