The Application Development Engineer develops and supports business computer applications and network systems of Physical Facilities. This role will cross train on multiple applications and tool sets providing a wealth of experience and require a broad range of application expertise.

Application Development Engineer

What You’ll Do In This Position
- Application Development and Maintenance
- Database Management
- Server Management
- Provide triage support for the hardware and software environment
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- System analysis, design, and implementation
- Database design and implementation
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years of related experience
- Object-oriented programming
- Business process reengineering
- Understanding of computer networking/fileservers and the interface with D3
- Red Hat Linux administration
- Basic knowledge of HTTP, Java, PHP, Mysql, and the interface with D3
- Multivalue database experience
- Basic knowledge of web services
- Basic understanding of VM and VDC
