The Boys and Girls Club Assistant Site Manager ( Elementary Site ) supports the Site Manager in planning, coordinating, organizing, and implementing after-school and summer programs that provide children ages 5–12 years old with comprehensive, quality services that meet the needs of working families of children. These services are provided in compliance with South Carolina Child Care licensing standards. This position reports to the Boys and Girls Club Site Manager (Elementary Site).
This position supports this portion of the CIN Mission: by providing quality care services to Catawba families.
This position is responsible and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
Essential Functions —
- Assist in management of the daily operations of the childhood facility (age 5-12) with multiple classrooms and programs.
- Organize files and maintain accurate and up-to-date files.
- Maintain the Suuk Sarak site in a clean and organized manner.
- Implement Boys & Girls Club curriculum by providing and maintaining quality educational programs and activities.
- Support program in keeping open lines of communication with staff, parents, and children.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with parents to discuss each child’s progress, and meetings with staff to discuss their progress.
- Emphasize achievement and quality programming to foster an environment that nurtures and promotes children’s development and well-being.
- Assist Site Manager in maintaining licensing requirements at SC State standards and ensure facility is prepared for inspection at any time, maintain Staff SC Requirements.
- Ensure the facility, classrooms and environment adhere to and maintain safety and quality standards.
- Participate in marketing events, community outreach, and family engagement initiatives.
- Maintain a safe, clean, engaging facility, and classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters related to children, staff and Childcare records.
- Obtain and maintain ServeSafe Manager, and DOT.
- Work closely with Boys and Girls Club Site Manager (Elementary Site) with Scheduling, staff scheduling, Daily Schedule at Suuk Sarak.
- Manages Suuk Sarak to achieve and exceed enrollment targets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities —
- Assist in maintaining a staff of 5 - 12 and the development of individualized goals for staff’s professional growth and development, as well as supervise the monitoring and evaluation of goal accomplishment.
- Familiar with maintaining staff files per South Carolina Licensing guidelines.
- Assist in overseeing and managing children’s files per South Carolina Licensing guidelines.
- Construct and implement Daily Schedule at Suuk Sarak.
- Construct and implement Organization at Suuk Sarak with Daily Activities and Daily Events.

Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education – or - related field;
OR
A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a licensed or license exempt childcare facility.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation and state licensing requirements as well as all applicable state and federal laws, and policies and procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years old, per South Carolina licensing requirements.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Possess a valid, clean state Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

- Demonstrates knowledge of principles, techniques, goals, and objectives of childhood education
- Possesses knowledge and experience in team processes for advancing learning outcomes
- Upholds CIN standards and sets the example by consistently modeling professional leadership, management, and instructional skills while interacting with others. Demonstrates consistency in words and actions
- Clearly communicates standards, guidelines, and policies to all staff and stresses their importance to the organization

Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of USDA Nutritional Standards for Schools.
- Comprehensive knowledge of national and state education standards, licensing requirements and procedures, fire, health, and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to maintain effective, professional, and courteous working relationships and demeanor with other employees and the public at all times
- Bachelor of Science in Education - or – related field.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, grasp, or manipulate objects; reach with hands and arms; bend so as to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Salary : $44,000 - $48,000
