What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Court Clerk II position at City of Arlington?
Under general supervision, provides customer service to the public by processing payments for citations, fines, fees and court costs, setting court dates, processing bonds and answering the telephone, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Ability to accept and process payments for citations, fines, fees and court costs, setting court dates and processing bonds as well as provide information about case processing to citizens requesting policies and
procedures.
2. Ability to assist with court recording of trials and in properly accounting for evidence, (i.e., marking and storage) and the ability to assist with docketing duties including jury assembly.
3. Ability to open and distribute mail to appropriate personnel as well as the ability to transcribe data from source material to be keyed into the case management system.
4. Ability to assist in the process of issuing warrants of arrest on Class C Misdemeanor cases.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
5. Ability to learn and perform the duties of a Deputy Court Clerk II.
6. Ability to review and proofread court documents.
7. Ability to assist judges and prosecutors in the courtroom.
8. Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of modern office methods, procedures and equipment.
- Skill in making simple arithmetic calculations.
- Skill in communicating both orally and in writing with a variety of people from all educational levels including judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys.
- Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written means to maintain positive relationships.

Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including, but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator and recording equipment and ability to utilize Microsoft Office software.

QUALIFYING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school education.
- Two years experience in customer service, cashier, or general office work. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for above.
- Obtain Level I Certification in the Texas Court Clerks Certification program after one year of work experience.
Pre-employment screening:
Must successfully complete required pre-employment screen which includes criminal background check, physical and Human Performance Evaluation (HPE)
Salary : $34,300 - $43,500
