Salary & Benefits
- Full Salary Range: $44,813 - 66,323 annual - depending on qualifications
- Anticipated Hiring Range: $44,813 - $55,568 annual - depending on qualifications
- Cafeteria Plan: In addition to the base compensation, benefits-eligible employees receive an extra $5,640 per year to put toward benefit costs or to be used as additional take-home pay
- Paid Holidays: 21 (including a full week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and over Spring Break)

- Ensure that the Federal Title IV programs and Veterans Program are administered properly by interpreting and complying with federal and state regulations, verifying student information and requesting additional information as required. Includes monitoring and enforcing federal and state regulations to ensure that the college is in compliance, and making recommendations to supervisor for revision to procedures when the department or college is not in compliance or for efficiency measures. Performs data analysis to identify discrepancies in data, and determine action for resolution.
- Provide technical, detailed information to students and parents in person, via the phone and through electronic communication regarding financial aid programs and procedures and federal regulations.
- Assist in the development, creation and implementation of department procedures.
- Advise students and parents in person regarding financial aid and Veteran educational benefits. This includes academic advisement, vocational guidance, and understanding personal and sensitive issues as they relate to the program. Determine a specific course of action, make recommendations, or refer students to internal programs or outside agencies if required. Confers with academic advisors and/or faculty.
- Represent the Office of Student Financial Aid and Veteran Services on College-wide and community committees. May represent the College at local, statewide or national meetings.
- Award Veterans educational benefits, financial aid, external scholarships, and tribal aid. Assist with awarding Foundation scholarships.
- Serves as backup processor for consortium agreements, loan default prevention letters and emails, third party agency requests, and tribal financial need analysis documents.
- Complete paperwork for check deposits and EFT transfers and ensure it is entered into Banner and reconciled on a monthly basis.
- Develop and conduct in-person Financial Aid and Veterans presentations for outside groups such as high schools, parent nights, workshops, Veterans meetings, etc.
- Participate in the departmental planning processes.
- Hire, train and supervise Veteran student workers and interns. May supervise additional student workers in the Office of Student Financial Aid.
- Maintain a welcoming environment within CCC’s Student Veteran Center. Interact with student’s utilizing the center in-person on an ongoing basis.
- Interact in-person, by phone, mail and email with other College departments and outside agencies which includes, but is not limited to: Veterans Administration Regional Processing Office, State Approving Agency of Arizona, Department of Veteran Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation, third party servicers for Veterans, tribal agencies and other colleges.
- Utilizes the National Student Loan Data System, FAA Access to CPS and other Department of Education systems.
- Maintain the CCC Veterans webpage and electronic forms.
- Perform various support duties which may include ordering office supplies, renewing subscriptions, and paying annual dues. Responsible for entering data into administrative system or other databases and maintaining files as needed.
- Cross-trains in order to serve as back-up to Financial Aid Specialists and to ensure others can perform the job duties of this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred
Experience with Banner administrative system and working in a community college environment. Veteran status and/or experience working with military services.
