What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Aide position at Community Concepts?
Our Children's Services Head Start program has an opening available with the Fryeburg Early Learning Center at our New Suncook Pre-K located in Lovell for a Center Aide. This position may require frequent travel between New Suncook and the Molly Ockett School Campus. The Center Aide helps create a healthy, safe, and fun learning environment for preschoolers and works as part of a teaching team providing support to meet children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development needs. This position may maintain records, observations, and data on individual children. Other duties include sharing the responsibility for the proper care and cleanliness of the center. The position is for 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.
To Qualify: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; experience working with young children required. Completion of Head Start Substitute Teacher Training or being enrolled in or have completed an Early Childhood course of study is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills and knowledge; considerable stamina is needed to bend, lift, carry, etc. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. A pre-employment physical, Covid vaccination or employer-verified exemption, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry, fingerprinting, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire as a condition of employment.
