What are the responsibilities and job description for the Center Aide position at Community Concepts?
Our Children's Services program has an opening for a Center Aide available at the Chisholm Early Learning Center for August 2023. The Center Aide helps create a healthy, safe, and fun learning environment for preschoolers and works as part of a teaching team providing support to meet children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development needs. This position may be responsible for maintaining records, observations, and data on individual children. Other duties include sharing the responsibility for the proper care and cleanliness of the center. This position is 20 hours per week, generally following the school calendar
To Qualify: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; experience working with young children required. Completion of Head Start Substitute Teacher Training, or being enrolled in or having completed an Early Childhood course of study is preferred. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must have basic computer skills and knowledge; considerable stamina is needed to bend, lift, carry, etc. Must obtain and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. A pre-employment physical, Covid vaccination or employer-verified exemption, SBI, DMV, DHHS, Maine Sex Offender Registry, fingerprinting, and federal debarment background checks must be completed upon offer of hire and as a condition of employment.
