Hiring for an HIV/STI Epidemiologist for an Infectious Disease Division of a healthcare center in Boston, MA.

Schedule: 35HPW; Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Pay range: $60-62/hr

Overview

The HIV/STI Division leads Boston’s effort to monitor, prevent, and respond to HIV and sexually transmitted infections. The HIV/STI Epidemiologist supports surveillance, data analysis, reporting, evaluation, and cluster monitoring for Boston and Suffolk County.

Essential Functions

• Maintain HIV/STI data systems and monitor trends and clusters.
• Review medical records and collaborate with providers to ensure accurate surveillance information.
• Support HIV surveillance databases and integrate ELR and case report data.
• Develop analyses related to partner services, Data-to-Care, HIV testing, PrEP, and care continuum outcomes.
• Implement data quality assurance processes.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, tables, and visualizations.
• Respond to data requests and communicate directly with requesters.
• Develop analyses and narrative for funder reports and presentations.
• Provide technical assistance to BPHC HIV/STI staff and partners.
• Attend internal and external meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in public health or related field required.
• Strong communication skills with ability to present epidemiologic data clearly.
• Deep understanding of epidemiology, evaluation, biostatistics, and data visualization.
• Ability to clean, validate, and analyze surveillance data.
• Proficiency in SAS required; R preferred.
• Experience with REDCap, Epi Info, Access, SharePoint, or similar databases preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS, QGIS, or mapping tools desirable.
• Prior experience with HIV/STI surveillance or programs preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and work independently or with diverse teams.
