At Milton Hershey School, we are seeking a special individual to join our team as a Child Parent (PA) in our residential program. As a member of our dynamic household, you will play a vital role in providing a loving and supportive environment for our students.
Responsibilities
As a Child Parent, your primary responsibility will be to provide care and guidance to a group of approximately 8-12 students who reside in one of our on-campus homes. This will involve:
- Providing a consistent family-like structure for the students, promoting emotional stability and security.
- Guiding and mentoring the students, encouraging them to develop important life skills and values.
- Handling various responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, reporting, and more.
You will work closely with other members of our team to ensure that our students receive the best possible care and support. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid training and relocation assistance.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings.
- Be part of a legally married couple for at least two years.
- Be at least 27 years old.
- Not have more than three dependent children residing in the student home.
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus policy.
- Limitations on pets; only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to become certified to drive student home vans.
- Be comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all staff are role models for our students.
Salary : $43,825 - $165,000
