General Summary:

A Warehouse Material Handler has the general responsibility for maintaining production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. They must be capable to operate a forklift and order picker.

A Material Handler is expected to work with other Handlers to effectively meet or exceed expectations for quality and operations.

Responsibilities:

• Loads and Unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility.
• Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, order picker, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trailers and within the storage facility.
• Possesses the ability to read and follow operating procedures.
• Receive customer supplied materials for proper labeling, handling and movement of materials and paperwork.
• Must accurately document all work performed on inspection reports and receiving/shipping documents.
• Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product.
• Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.
• Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.
• Adheres to safety guidelines.
• Maintains cleanliness of work areas, tools and equipment.
• Acts as a resource during audits or customer visits for questions and answers or practical demonstrations.
• Performs job duties with no assistance or supervision. Independent judgement is required.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Educational:
  • Be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required
• Technical:
  • N/A
• Physical:
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
  • Occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds (with assistance)
  • Standing up to 10 hours at a time.
• Environment:
  • Work is performed in a low noise, well maintained Warehouse environment with the associated hazards.
• Training:
  • Requires on the job training as required to meet job requirements
  • Requires special skills based on extensive training and experience.
