Chartering Specialist Responsibilities
- Coordinate chartering responsibilities to fulfill project requirements in the offshore energy industry.
- Issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to vessel owners based on internal scopes/specifications.
- Support and follow up with vessel owners during proposal preparation to ensure timely responses.
- Conduct commercial bid evaluations and recommend vessel owners based on cost, compliance, and efficiency.
- Lead negotiations on commercial terms and finalize charter parties using BIMCO contracts.
- Prepare and manage charter agreements, incorporating project-specific terms and mitigating deviations.
- Close the proposal process, notify all participants of final decisions, and handle any required documentation.
- Follow through on contract execution, including revisions if necessary.
- Maintain proper documentation and support centralized archiving processes.
- Build and sustain strong communication with vessel owners to support project planning.
- Assist with procurement of additional goods/services as needed to support project delivery.
- 2–3 years in chartering, marine logistics, or a related supply chain role.
- Fluency in English required.
- Proficient in BIMCO chartering contracts and SmartCon.
- Strong understanding of vessel operations, commercial maritime terms, and risk management (e.g., liabilities, mobilization windows).
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
