What are the responsibilities and job description for the Liquid Painter 2nd Shift River Falls position at Crystal Finishing Systems?
General Summary:
Performs a variety of liquid painting duties including, but not limited to blow off parts, apply liquid paint, and perform color changes safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Applies liquid paint to product surfaces in accordance with customer specifications using various types of paints.
- Obtains production schedule from lead and gathers coatings for each run verifying name and product code of the color.
- Performs color changes based on production schedule. This includes cleaning out paint guns, liquid pressure pots, and cleaning the pumps.
- Can prep product by wiping product down using isopropyl alcohol and other solutions, using air gun to eliminate water on parts, and tack product using tack cloths.
- Appropriately mixes paints and solvents ensuring correct ratio of components.
- Performs light maintenance and preventative maintenance on paint booths and equipment.
- Inspects product for quality issues such as dirt, debris, dents, scratches and poor prep work and informs necessary lead if problems are found.
- Rotates to different stations within the paint booth.
- Can locate, read, comprehend and execute proper work instructions.
- Operates equipment including, but not limited to paint guns, automatic paint bells, paint pumps, pressure pots, filters/strainers, and cup guns as necessary.
- Ensures paint booths and work areas are accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic by maintaining a clean work area at all times.
- Establishes efficient work flow based on product and task.
- Efficiently uses painting materials and other supplies and notifies the correct person when supplies run low.
- Properly wears required Personal Protective Equipment.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of liquid painting processes normally acquired through six (6) months experience in a similar position strongly desired.
- Previous experience with small hand tools is beneficial.
- Must have good attention to detail in order to visually identify minute imperfections or defects.
- Ability to work in a team or independently.
- Ability to work on a fast-paced, constantly forward moving production line.
