What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Dolan Memory Care Homes?
Reports To: Director of Facility Maintenance
General Description:
Under supervision of the Director of Facilities Maintenance, provides primary support and assistance in the physical maintenance and general up-keep on company property and equipment. Ensures the safety of residents at all times by ensuring the equipment and resident environment is safe, secure, and in good repair. Understands that all behaviors
have meaning and must interact with residents in a positive and creative manner to maximize their comfort and safety.
Primary Duties:
1. Floor and carpet cleaning
2. Wall cleaning, painting, and repair
3. Cleaning of HVAC registers, filters, and ceiling fans
4. Maintain all interior and exterior lighting
5. Clean and maintain central vacuum
6. Clean interior and exterior of all windows
7. Power-wash building exteriors and concrete
8. Clean and maintain furniture
9. Maintain landscaping and remove snow and ice as required
10. Assist in moving furniture, equipment, supplies as well as residents personal belongings
11. Maintain company equipment and tools in professional, workman manner
12. Use all equipment in accordance to the company, manufacturer, and government rules and regulations 1
13. Complete assigned tasks as directed by immediate supervisor
General Duties:
1. Perform basic plumbing and electrical work
2. Maintain and repair appliances and building mechanics
3. Complete assigned tasks as directed by immediate supervisor
General:
1. Practice and promote positive customer service with residents and families.
2. Is familiar with residents ISP and life story. Promotes engagement with residents and families in a positive and professional manner while supporting person centered care.
3. Communicates with co-workers, caregivers, house managers, supervisor, and ownership in positive and proactive manner.
4. Attends staff training sessions
5. Maintains office/work area in professional, organized manner.
6. Reports all incidents and or injury to residents or employees by completion of incident report and verbal report to immediate supervisor prior to or at the end of each shift.
7. Gossiping or other forms of communication which may be construed to be inappropriate language wither verbal or written is prohibited.
8. Supports and maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with company policy and directives.
9. Illegal drug free, smoke, and alcohol free while on premises and duty.
10. Cell phone use is prohibited during working hours for personal use
11. Stealing of any kind including “borrowing” from the company, residents, associates, and or visitors is strictly prohibited
Qualifications:
1. Proficient in the use of cleaning equipment and repair tools
2. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
3. Demonstrate a willingness to work within a specialized healthcare environment
4. Physically able to lift 100lbs. or greater; stoop, bend, squat, walk, and stand without impairment
5. Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license
