The Classroom Aide is responsible for assisting classroom staff in planning and executing all activities in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
- Works with other staff members in the room as a team to provide responsive care for children. Assume responsibilities for classroom staff in his/her absence.
- Communicates with parents, volunteers, and visitors in a positive manner.
- Assists the Teacher in planning and preparing the environment for each child.
- Assist with all paperwork necessary to the operation of the classroom.
- Assist with individualized activities in accordance with plans.
- Maintains orderliness to ensure the health and safety of assigned work area and takes responsibility for maintaining other areas as assigned including food service.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service training when scheduled by the Center Director.
- Follows safety and sanitary procedures at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information about each child and family.
- Assist classroom staff with the preparation of classroom materials, meals and food/bottle preparation.
This position is full-time, part-year. Hours vary between 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
