Essential Functions:
Complete all required IEP documentation as required by NC Policies Governing Services to Students with Disabilities within applicable timelines and compliance standards
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EC Teacher Assistant to support students with exceptional needs in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will assist the teacher in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment while ensuring students receive the individualized support they need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Provide direct support to students with exceptional needs, ensuring their academic and social development.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, offering guidance and encouragement.
- Help maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and administrative tasks.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and school staff regarding student needs and progress.
- Support students in developing independence and confidence in their learning.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or 48 semester hours of college-level coursework preferred.
- Experience working with students with exceptional needs is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Must pass background checks and meet school district requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with diverse student needs.
- Ability to assist with behavioral management and student engagement techniques.
