Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our corporate office in Abingdon, MD. This is a full-time position; Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. The primary focus of this position is performing accounting and clerical tasks related to maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Process incoming accounts payable mail
- Sort, code, verify and enter invoices
- Verify weekly employee expense requests
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Review, verify and enter corporate credit card transactions
- Maintaining positive relationships with staff and clients
- Other projects as assigned
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable functions
- Experience with BST Global preferred but not required
- Confident, cost conscious professional who possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with employees and vendors
- Organized and detail-oriented team player with a positive attitude who works well independently, as well as on a team, to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Self-motivated, hard worker who handles all internal and external interactions courteously and respectfully, and is always willing to help others.
- Must possess strong time management skills and be able to handle a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that can be stressful at times.
- Able to research and respond to internal and external inquiries quickly, possessing follow-up and follow-through skills for complicated matters.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and Outlook required.
