The Finance Manager plays an essential role to ensure that Gospel Rescue Mission (GRM) maintains strong financial health, sound fiscal stewardship, organizational integrity and compliance to deliver on our mission to provide Hope, Shelter and Transformation. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial well-being of Gospel Rescue Mission. This involves monitoring, controlling, and optimizing financial activities to ensure smooth operations and long-term sustainability. Additional duties, including but not limited to the following:

This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial well-being of Gospel Rescue Mission. This involves monitoring, controlling, and optimizing financial activities to ensure smooth operations and long-term sustainability. Additional duties, including but not limited to the following:
General Activities
- Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring GRM’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed
- Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring GRM’s goals are being met
- Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports as requested
- Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing
- Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current
- Manages and oversees finance staff
- Assists CFO in staffing decisions in the Finance Department
- Assists with performance evaluations
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and 990s
- Generate and review daily or weekly financial reports (cash position, income, expenses) in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate month end close and produce accurate management reports for distribution to GRM
- Record and report outcomes of GRM financial efforts as outlined in department playbook
- Performs other related duties as requested
- Efficient, organized work style, and an ability to prioritize quickly and confidently while managing multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision
- Experience with governmental/non-profit accounting principles and procedures and GAAP accounting principals
- Skilled at negotiating and the ability to develop strong working relationships
- Ability to handle sensitive information and materials
- Proficient in assessing the performance and quality of team’s work
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration
- Accuracy - Ensuring that all income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity are recorded correctly and accurately
- Compliance - Ensuring that GRM is in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements, this is essential for our operation and reputation
- Leadership - Effectively guide team while simultaneously demonstrating pathways for their success under your leadership
- Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual success goals as approved and by GRM benchmarks and strategic plan
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Attend staff meetings or other meetings as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field required or five (5) years of management experience in finance or related field
- Experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations
- Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment
- Personal integrity, truthfulness and accountability are critical, invaluable and essential characteristics
- Maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and must have a clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Must be Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God’s love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to all
- Some local travel to other locations for meetings or other business-related needs
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds
