Job Purpose
- The role will be responsible for providing support for the Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Field Area Network (FAN) deployment in Upstate New York.
- The role will focus on the telecommunication field devices installed on overhead electric poles throughout the territory and provide support to the deployment team in the areas of audit, inventory management, and tracking of devices that require maintenance.
- To successfully perform in this role, the candidate must proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple business units to influence safety and compliance outcomes, share best practices, and collaborate to improve ways of working.
Key Accountabilities
- Excess material tracking and review at the operating yard/barn level, according to the return of excess material across the region
- Providing overhead line operations teams miscellaneous materials through material work requests in various statuses, in all operating areas.
- Troubleshooting any material issues to support electric operations installations and troubleshooting maintenance
- Coordinating deliveries from material suppliers and managing risk to ensure deliveries arrive according to plan
- Perform field audits on AMI equipment across the operating territory
- Provide data for the FAN team to present field findings to stakeholders and update the database with data acquired from the field.
- Management of data to support troubleshooting and inventory control efforts.
Qualifications
- 3 years' operations experience within the electric utility or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of electric operations, preferred with power and telecommunication device experience.
- Familiarity with technical details associated with third party pole attachments.
- Displays commitment to safe and productive work environment through consistent actions, beliefs and personal conduct.
- Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history.
