What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Engagement Specialist position at Heritage Behavioral Health Center?
These full time positions will join the Heritage Behavioral Health Center's Youth and Family Support Services team to provide case management and community support services to youth and family in the Juvenile Redeploy Illinois program. Services will be provided in array of settings including individual’s home, community-settings, community agencies, schools, and Heritage.
Core Responsibilities include:
- Identifying family needs (i.e. access to health care, safety, and finances) and linkage to appropriate community resources
- Facilitate the development of supportive family relationships
- Development of natural supports
- Navigation of systems the youth/family are involved in
- Providing the family with intervention strategies and support
Education and Experience:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a human services field (psychology, social work, juvenile justice, human services) or have a high school diploma (or equivalent) plus five years of documented experience working in a social service setting. Preference will be given to candidates with lived experienced navigating community systems or have experienced personal mental health or substance use recovery. Candidates with lived experience will be required to complete certification as a Peer Support Recovery Specialist or Family Partnership Professional within two years of employment.
A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance are required for this position.
