What are the responsibilities and job description for the POOL SERVER/ATTENDANT position at Hillcrest Country Club?
The Pool Server/Attendant will continually monitor the sundeck, dining terrace and pool locker rooms to keep them clean and well-stocked. He or she will assist Bartenders/Servers, ensuring a steady supply of utensils, condiments, paper and plastic goods, and taking food and beverage orders as needed. The Pool Server/Attendant will also serve as rotating Pool Hosts/Hostesses, occasionally stationed at the front gate where they greet and sign in members and guests, ensuring the required pool waivers are on file. They will also work in other outlets such as Courtside Café, and Banquets when needed. A neat and organized individual, the Pool Server/Attendant will be a team player who helps wherever they can make a difference. Possessing a strong customer service orientation, they will be an attentive yet unobtrusive presence, always keeping an eye out for ways to meet member/guest needs, as well as the needs of their colleagues. Pool positions are seasonal and require a commitment starting in May through Labor Day. At the end of the pool season, which can be as late as October, star performers may apply and be considered for any open position for which they are qualified. Must be 21 or older.
- Applicant must be at least 21 years of age at the start of their employment
- High school diploma and/or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior customer service experience, preferably in a similar luxury environment
- A 5-star attitude and warm, friendly personality; outgoing without being overbearing, possessing a pleasant and caring manner with everyone
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English with all stakeholders; to follow oral and written instructions and to memorize necessary information
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work rapidly and quietly during rush periods
- A team player able to work well with others
- Organized and proactive with great attention to detail
- Exceptional grooming habits, reliably presenting in clean professional business attire
- Punctual and reliable
- Able to learn prescribed methods for removing dishes, maintaining lounge chairs, setting tables and cleaning dining and pool areas
- Able to serve food to correct person seated at tables or poolside
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred
- Food Handler, Tips or CPR Certification a plus
- Lift up to 50 lbs
