What are the responsibilities and job description for the AV Control Systems Programmer position at i.e. Smart Systems?
Primary Function:
We are looking for a skilled AV Control Systems Programmer to develop and implement software solutions for a variety of control platforms, including Crestron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, Extron, Lutron, and others. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and commissioning AV control and DSP systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
Industry certifications from these manufacturers, as well as InfoComm CTS certification, are highly desirable but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, program, and configure AV control systems and DSP platforms, ensuring seamless operation and user experience.
- Write program specifications and create comprehensive user documentation, including instruction manuals and system guides.
- Coordinate commissioning of AV projects in collaboration with project managers and technical teams.
- Ensure timely delivery by managing project deadlines effectively.
- Work closely with project stakeholders to design and implement custom control solutions that meet client requirements.
- Perform end-to-end system integration, troubleshooting, and testing to ensure high-quality performance.
- Provide user training and support, including post-installation technical assistance.
- Collaborate with engineering and installation teams to optimize system functionality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience programming AV control systems and DSP platforms (preferred).
- Proficiency in programming for Crestron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, Extron, Lutron, and other AV platforms.
- Familiarity with coding languages, including C, C , C#, Python, HTML5, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Understanding of networking principles, infrastructure, and topology is required.
- Experience with DSP programming, especially Biamp and QSC, is a strong plus.
- Industry certifications such as Crestron (CTI-P101, CTI-P201), AMX, Extron, Biamp Tesira, QSC Q-SYS, and InfoComm CTS are highly valued.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with system design and engineering for AV projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset to ensure high-quality user experiences.
