Position Title: Aquatics Lifeguard
Department: Aquatics
Reports To: Aquatics Team Lead
Status: Seasonal, Non-Exempt
Summary of Duties:
Lifeguard and operate various attractions following Aquatic Risk Management program and Standard Operating Procedures while providing Guest Excellence and maintaining safe practices.
Job Responsibilities:
• Exhibit professional demeanor and model behaviors at all times
• Act in accordance with the Aquatic Risk Management program
• Deliver Guest Excellence being knowledgeable about the attractions and park
• Maintain constant attention and focus
• Lifeguard various bodies of water adhering to Aquatic Risk Management program
• Operate attractions following Standard Operating Procedures
• Enforce participant requirements and attraction rules
• Execute emergency procedures, to include crowd control, as necessary
• Communicate via public address systems, radios and telephones
• Protect company assets through proper use of tools and equipment and the adherence to the standard of overall cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Other duties as needed and/or assigned by Leadership.
Job Requirements:
• Must be at least 15 years of age. If under 18 years of age, must be able to provide working papers prior to hire.
o Lifeguards under the age of 16 are not permitted to work at elevated locations such as tops of water slides as per the Department of Labor and are staffed at pools, run outs, bottoms of slides or supplemental positions supporting high attendance levels such as tube takers and greeters
• Must be able to obtain a Lifeguard Certification through Aquatic Risk Management provider.
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to efficiently manage time and work without direct supervision.
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist and reach above shoulders.
• Ability to work in an environment with high levels of noise and vibrations.
• Ability to work in high stress situations.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.
