Overview
Our client is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor who will oversees daily production activities, leads a team of line operators and production staff, and ensures that safety, quality, and output goals are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership, hands‑on problem‑solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and support production employees on the 2nd shift.
- Assign work, monitor performance, and ensure staffing levels meet production demands.
- Maintain a positive, team‑oriented environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee production lines to ensure efficient workflow, minimal downtime, and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Sanitation teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Ensure proper setup, changeovers, and shutdown procedures for all equipment.
- Enforce GMPs, HACCP protocols, and company food safety standards.
- Monitor product quality throughout the shift and address deviations immediately.
- Support audits, inspections, and documentation requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety checks, enforce PPE requirements, and report hazards promptly.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Track production metrics, downtime, yields, and labor efficiency.
- Complete shift reports and communicate key updates to leadership and incoming shifts.
- Participate in daily production meetings and contribute to operational planning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of production experience in food manufacturing or production.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make quick, informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime or weekends as needed.
Salary : $70,000 - $78,000
