Buyer Assistant in our Merchandise Department
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position Reports To: Merchandise Manager
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to the Buying Office. Executes tasks as assigned by the Buying Office to include: special order entry, tagging program, order process and communication with internal and external parties as needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Create new sku’s while managing related product features & benefits
Create and print all new product tags
Maintain tag edits and download for store to print
Assist with market preparations as needed
Liaison between buyer and vendor partners
Communicate product status changes on weekly Merchandising Memo
SKU, label and distribute all special order materials
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for Office Organization.
Communicates effectively with stores, vendors and other professionals.
Prepare and distribute weekly Merchandise Memo as requested by the Buyers.
Performs other administrative and clerical tasks and completes special projects as assigned.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective business relations with stores, vendors, and other business professionals.
Responds to inquiries, handles or refers issues as appropriate while conveying a positive image of Kane’s.
Obtains and provides information as needed.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with area staff and with management.
Assist other assistants and personnel as needed.
Keep management apprised of activities and important information.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
Performs miscellaneous clerical and administrative tasks.
Perform other related duties and functions as required.
Performs special projects as assigned.
Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Paperwork is neat, and promptly completed with accuracy.
Inquiries are courteously attended to. Good business relations exist with outside professionals and with stores.
Telephone calls and visitors are courteously received.
Documents and reports are accurately produced and up-to-date. Files are well maintained.
Good communication and coordination exist with area personnel and with management. Assistance is provided as needed. Management is appropriately informed.
Assistant support functions are well coordinated, directed, and efficient.
A professional image is projected and maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the internet and other web-based tools
Experience Required:
One year related experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
Proficient word processing skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
Able to work well independently and as part of a team
Able to assist, direct, and coordinate others
