LHH Recruitment Solutions formally Accounting Principals is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a team in the Paramus, NJ office as the Foundation Accountant/Staff Accountant
Role: Contract | Onsite 5 days a week
Pay Rate: Starting $30.00 an hour plus pending experience
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director to develop regular reporting templates for management and the Finance Committee.
- Staff the Foundation’s Finance Committee meetings, including preparation and distribution of agendas, reports, and minutes.
- Advise Director and Finance Committee of cash needs.
- Prepare the annual budget with the Director, and track and report forecasts.
- Develop multi-year financial projections based on assumptions for revenue, staffing, and expenses to facilitate long-range planning.
- Maintain the Foundation’s general ledger, coding and preparing/posting all journal entries, and reconciling bank/investment accounts.
- Ensure prompt corrections of reconciling items.
- Responsible for accounts payable, including maintenance of vendor information/W-9s and year-end 1099 filings.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation for payments from restricted funds, and coding of disbursements for appeals, management, and general, and fundraising expense types-based discussions with Director.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in accounting or related roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Non-Profit is a plus!
- Software: Financial Edge/Blackbaud/Raisers Edge is a plus!
