What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medicaid Specialist position at Macon County Health Department?
Medicaid Specialist
Provides assistance to Care Coordinators to support the case management of persons age 60 and older in the community. Assists with completion of Mandatory Medicaid applications and follow-up. Completes home visits to obtain necessary documents for Medicaid applications and verification.
Education and Experience
Minimum of Associates degree with two (2) years of experience required. Experience completing Medicaid application and working with persons aged 60 years and over preferred. Must be compassionate, have a pleasant attitude and maintain a positive, customer friendly manner with the public at all times. Must have excellent communication, phone and organizational skills. Must have knowledge of general office procedures/equipment and have basic computer skills; experience with ABE preferred. Must be able to work effectively under stress. Must have the ability to work with diverse community groups.
