Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented senior accountant with 3-5 years of experience to provide accounting support for a diverse range of business operations. This dynamic role will involve collaborating with various teams, handling multi-faceted financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in general accounting principles and practices and will have the ability to manage a broad range of accounting tasks efficiently. This position is fully onsite in our Baltimore office.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
   • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple business entities.
   • Perform variance analysis and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
   • Analyze financial performance and prepare reports for senior management, identifying trends and recommending areas for improvement.
2. General Accounting:
   • Oversee general ledger functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account balancing.
   • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for all businesses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
   • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
3. Payroll and Tax Compliance:
   • Support payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments and compliance with tax regulations.
   • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements, including preparing tax filings (e.g., sales tax, income tax, etc.).
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
   • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for all business entities.
   • Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
5. Audit & Compliance Support:
   • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
   • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
6. Accounts Management & Reconciliation:
   • Manage and reconcile accounts for all entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial records.
   • Oversee intercompany transactions, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
7. Special Projects:
   • Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed, supporting growth and operational efficiency across the businesses.
   • Provide support during financial system upgrades or changes, ensuring smooth transitions.
8. Other:
   • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to multi-entity operations preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices is a plus.
