Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach production team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets.
- Coordinate daily workflow to ensure efficient material and manpower utilization.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement plans for equipment and processes.
- Monitor and manage the department budget, focusing on cost control and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, and Quality departments to support production goals.
- Conduct regular meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, work rules, and union agreements.
- Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel issues impacting delivery and quality.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- 3 years of automotive manufacturing experience; 5 to 7 years of supervisory experience preferred, especially in heat treating, metal finishing, or working with metals.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and ISO procedures is required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information and handle difficult situations professionally across all organizational levels.
- Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.
- Proficient in business math related to production and inventory management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply logical and scientific thinking to complex issues, including interpreting formulas, graphs, and abstract variables.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), internet communications, measurement systems and analysis, print interpretation, and MRP/ERP systems.
