Job Description
Plant Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the USDA facility, including production, quality control, and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing levels and resources as needed.
- Manage and develop a team of supervisors and production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet USDA standards and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, logistics, and finance to achieve organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, and employee attendance.
- Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees.
The Successful Applicant
Plant Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a USDA-regulated food processing facility.
- In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP principles, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP software systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours, if required
