Milton Hershey School offers a unique opportunity for married couples to become flex houseparents. As part of our team, you will reside on-campus and provide a consistent family-like structure for students in approximately 8-12 student homes.
Couples who are hired as flex houseparents will initially cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home. This role requires a high degree of integrity, as all staff members serve as role models for students.
Key responsibilities include guiding and nurturing students, handling various tasks such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. Flex houseparents must also be comfortable leading daily devotions and taking students to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services.
Qualifications for this position include experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings. Couples must have been legally married for at least two years, and both spouses should be at least 27 years old. Additionally, they must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and possess a valid U.S. driver's license.
