The Electrical Service Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of our electrical service operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor a team of skilled electrical technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster professional development.
- Schedule and dispatch technicians efficiently to meet service demands and project deadlines.
- Promote a safety-conscious work environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Resolve team conflicts and promote a positive, collaborative work culture.
- Operations & Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of all electrical service projects, from troubleshooting and repairs to installations and upgrades.
- Develop and implement efficient service processes and procedures.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Handle emergency service calls and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for service clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and secure repeat business.
- Prepare and present service proposals and estimates to clients.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the service department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee billing and invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the service department's revenue.
- Technical Expertise & Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, industry standards, and new technologies.
- Provide technical support and guidance to technicians and clients.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Oversee the proper documentation of all service work, including reports, permits, and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including commercial, industrial, and residential applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, attics, and crawl spaces.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods.
Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
