Position Overview:
Responsible for processing and submitting medical insurance claims, ensuring accurate coding of procedures, and resolving billing discrepancies to facilitate timely reimbursement for healthcare services. Position is onsite with potential for hybrid after 90 days of employment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Job Functions:
· Audits and submits clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper for Medical, Dental and Behavioral health services.
· Answers questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies.
· Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints.
· Evaluates patient’s financial status and establishes budget payment plans.
· Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone, correcting, and resubmitting claims to third-party payers.
· Auto post and hand post payments from insurance companies.
· Identify, appeal, and resolve insurance denials and report denial trends to Billing Director.
· Verify eligibility, benefits and claim status on various insurance websites.
· Work and resolve AR claims.
· Maintain clearinghouse denials.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum of 2 years experience medical billing (Preferred)
· Certified Biller (Required)
· Certified Coder (Preferred)

· Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
· Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard
