Job Summary: Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading healthcare organization, are seeking experienced L2 Network Engineers to join their infrastructure team. As part of a diverse group of engineers, you will play a critical role in managing network operations and troubleshooting, ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 network functionality, focusing on routing and switching.
- Work with Extreme Networks equipment, contributing to the configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of network devices.
- Manage network work requests, ensuring proper registration and connectivity across facilities.
- Engage in troubleshooting network issues and participate in project work; some travel may be required, with mileage reimbursed.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on complex network solutions and enhancements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for your designated region, assisting with urgent network concerns.
- Contribute to a variety of project work, including upgrades and new installations within the network infrastructure.
- Take advantage of an unlimited training budget for professional development, including certifications such as Network or CCNA.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking principles.
- Familiarity with Extreme Networks technology is a plus; however, experience with other networking solutions will be considered.
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment is preferred, although not required.
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as OSPF and BGP, along with fabric technology.
- Experience in network access control and wireless networking is advantageous.
- Ability to handle high-level troubleshooting effectively; Cisco technology knowledge is beneficial.
